Glutamine not “glucosamine” Hi Ed: Glad you’re better and that your operation went ok. It seems wrong that we have to suffer things like this — isn’t P enough? Anyway, just visited the site again and realised in my earlier mail I said I was using glucosamine — I meant glutamine. I’ve still got a few patches — down to 8 from the 20 in my last mail. Had a bit of a relapse over Easter and my birthday — too much wine, chocolate and hot cross buns — but getting back on track now and the fact my P is clearing again makes me think I’m still heading the right way. By the way — I’ve tried Leucostat. My naturopath put me on it for about 3 or 4 months. Can’t remember the dosage but was probably the same as TL’s. Like most things, it worked a little bit and then stopped. Maybe the dosage needs to be higher — or it just wasn’t for me. Kind Regards, -Rae D. Ps – loved Itchy and Crampy’s letter. Very funny and entertaining, and I’m thankful that I have it so relatively easy, but I’m with her on the difficulty of getting the various oozy creams and stuff on your scalp under all that hair — a complete pain in the arse! Luckily the diet has fixed my scalp up because I gave up on the creams last year. Best of everything to you and Itchy and Crampy and all the P-people. ***** Ed’s Response: Thanks for the correction — glutamine, not “glucosamine.” I thought for a few seconds the glucosamine I take to better my joints might serve my gut, too. Wikipedia has a good entry on glutamine, one section of which, sub-titled “Aiding gastrointestinal function,” should be of interest to anybody studying leaky gut syndrome as a cause of P. We wish you continued good luck with the diet! -Edwww.flakehq.com |
