Another Disgruntled and Ignored Aalgo User
from Martin J.

Backstory:
(1) Aalgo (ground seaweed) Helping Husband
(2) Aalgo? Caveat Emptor!

Dear Sir, I feel it my duty to write and let others know of my experiences with Aalgo ground seaweed for skin treatment. I suffer from Neuro dermatitis and lately the condition has gotten a lot worse. I was surfing on the net when I found Aalgo www.aalgo.com and thought I would give it a try, after all, they offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

I used Aalgo exactly as instructed and the only effect it has had is to stain my bathtub green! Unsatisfied, I sent back the Jar for my refund. Low and behold, I have heard nothing since and all emails to this company have gone ignored.

I was really at my wits end when I bought this, praying that it would relieve the terrible itching, which up till now, has only been helped with cortisone cream. I feel really let down, that after the seaweed failed to improve the condition, my money has not been refunded and my entreaties have been ignored.

I hope other readers or indeed users of Aalgo have more success than I have had, both with the product and the contact. –Martin J. (Austria)

Ed’s Response: Thanks for letting us know, Martin. Yours is not the first complaint we’ve received (see Backstory, second link, at top). This is particularly sad given this statement from the “About” page at the Aalgo web site:

We have shared the benefit of this Aalgo natural formula for the past 14 years through a limited number of Health Spas, Health Shops, Health Farms, Exhibitions and now over the last couple of years most of our business is on the internet.

It sounds to me like the organization isn’t up to the task of running a web-based retail business. Or, their cash flow is being strapped by refund requests.

There’s also the issue of symptomatic and trigger variability in psoriasis and other skin conditions. Topicals, by definition, focus on the symptom, not the cause, and with so much variability it’s a foregone conclusion that a significant percentage of people won’t obtained or maintain desired results. Which means anyone selling a topical with a ‘satisfaction guarantee’ attached needs to be prepared for a lot of pay back.

Whatever the problems, the negative stories generated about their lack of customer service and fulfillment will hinder their prospects for recovery. -Ed
